Guests should plan to fly into Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport (KOA) at Keahole, conveniently located 20 minutes away from Kona Village to the North and Kailua-Kona to the South.
We recommend arriving and departing from Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport (KOA) to be the most convenient as Kona Village is only a 20 min drive away

Why Kona Village?
Sitting on the sacred lava shores of Kaupūlehu, Kona Village is a place shaped by centuries of Hawaiian history and storytelling. When the original Kona Village Resort opened in the 1960s, it was envisioned as a retreat unlike anywhere else—an oasis of thatched hales, with no phones, no televisions, and a pace of life guided by the ocean rather than the clock. Families returned year after year, creating a beloved community rooted in simplicity and aloha.
In 2011, the Fukushima tsunami reached Hawaiʻi and swept through this coastline, closing the resort for more than a decade. For many, Kona Village became a cherished memory—frozen in time, waiting for the right moment and the right hands to bring it back to life.
That moment finally came with its reimagining as a Rosewood property. The team rebuilt the village with deep respect for its legacy: honoring the original layout, reviving traditional materials, and restoring the spirit of seclusion and connection that made it iconic.
Today, Kona Village feels both renewed and familiar—modern in comfort, timeless in soul.
We chose Kona Village because it embodies exactly how we want our wedding to feel: intimate, meaningful, and connected to place. It’s a setting where the land, the history, and the people come together to create something truly special. Hosting our celebration here feels like participating in the next chapter of a story we love—a story of resilience, restoration, and coming home.
