We met at a bar.
On first meeting, we connected instantly, discovering that we’d grown up just blocks apart in Brooklyn. As children of immigrant parents, we had unknowingly shared some of our favorite childhood memories at so many of the same places: Kings Plaza, Fun Time USA, Pho Hoai (our go-to local pho spot), and even attending the same Tae Kwon Do studio—all without ever meeting. At the time, though, life had other plans.
Two years later, we reconnected while Peter was visiting his family in Brooklyn—but this time, the timing was finally right. Soon, weekends were spent traveling back and forth between Boston and New York, making the most of every moment together.
When the pandemic arrived, one ordinary weekend visit turned into an extended sleepover… and the rest, as they say, is history.
